Working with categories, forums, chat and subforums
Adding categories
1. To add categories, you must be logged in to your community.
2. Click on the navigation button in your navigation bar at the top right of your screen.
3. Click on admin menu
4. In your yellow menu on the left, click on forum & chat Mgmt
5. Click on add category either at the top or on the bottom of your screen.
6. Enter the name of your category and click add category to save it.
7. Repeat the above actions for each category you wish to add.
Moving categories.
To change the order of your categories, change the number to the left of your category name.
When finished, click update to save the new order.
Deleting categories
To delete a category, follow steps 1 through 4 as seen in the adding categories section above.
Click delete category in the category you wish to delete.
Confirm deletion.
Adding forums
To add a forum, follow steps 1 through 4 as seen above in the adding categories section above.
Click add forum within the category you wish to add a forum to.
Enter your forum title and your description.
Add a forum announcement if you wish.
Click add forum to save the changes.
Deleting forums
To delete a forum, follow steps 1 through 4 as seen in the adding categories section above.
Click delete forum in the forum you wish to delete.
Moving forums
To move the order of your forums, put your cusor inside the empty space of the forum you wish to move.
Drag and drop to where you wish to move the forum to.
Drag until you see a straight arrow, pointing up or down.
Down: drop below
Up: drop above.
In the example below, forum 4 is being dragged and dropped below forum 3.
Adding a chat room
To add a chat room, follow steps 1 through 4 as seen in the adding categories section above.
Click add chat in the desired category.
Enter a name and a description for your chat room.
Click add chat to save the changes.
Adding sub forums
To add a sub forum, create a regular forum first (see section adding forums).
Put your cursor inside the empty space of the forum and drag it to the forum you want it to be a subforum of.
Drag until you see a bent arrow, then drop it.
In the example below, forum three is being dragged to become a subforum of forum four.
End result in your back panel will look like this.
