Troubleshooting and FAQs

1) You are unable to edit the mod functions for your domain wide moderators.

When you instate your domain wide moderators by promoting them to admin and taking the admin powers away, you will not be able to edit their individual forum permissions or their mod functions as they are being treated as administrators. Demote your domain wide moderator to member, promote the member to moderator, and edit the individual forum permissions by checking the radio button in the moderator column for all forums. You can now edit the specific mod functions for each forum.

2) You demoted your domain wide moderator to member but the name still appears as a moderator in the community profile.

This occurs when you have forum specific moderators and you promote them to admin in order to make them domain wide moderators. When you demote them from admin to member again, they will go back to their previous status as forum specific moderators. Click on their use name in your member list and edit the individual forum access permissions by moving the radio button from the moderator column to a different column.

3) One of your moderators is no longer a moderator. You checked the individual forum permissions and the user has no mod access to any of the forums, but (s)he is still listed in your community profile as moderator.

You might have deleted a forum while this user had moderator access to that forum. Always remove your moderators from a forum before deleting it. (this is a bug and will be fixed in the future).

4) Your domain wide moderators are listed as administrators in your community profile.

This occurs when you install domain wide moderators by promoting them to admin and taking their admin powers away.
Demote your domain wide moderators to member, promote the members to moderator, and edit the individual forum permissions by checking the radio button in the moderator column for all forums.
